The film is set in an alternate 1964, where Germany won the war and Nazism is still in power. Would this ever happen it is likely luxury cars such as Rolls Royce would still be made but with different badges on them, in this case Daimler/Mercedes Benz. A pretty good plot device I thought, read the book and it should make more sense. It's not too far from the truth if you think, Jaguar is owned by Ford nowadays and indeed Rolls Royce is part German owned today. |

Yes, I think it's lame attempt to disguise a Roller as a Benz, this is a Rutger Hauer TV movie after all. |

It's not an attempt at disguising a Roller as a Benz at all, it is just reinforcing the message that in the film/book, England was defeated by Germany. Btw, the car is either a Silver Cloud Mk I or II, the Mk III had twin headlights either side.... |
