It is certainly a post war car, the other coachbuilder alternative could be HJM, this car has front hinged front doors rather than two sets of suicide doors. |

A couple of observations - it has no division so not a formal limousine despite extended body with side windows behind doors. Also that it is a lot earlier than the (Edinburgh issue) plate - which if genuine to car means that it had a previous identity before 1964, and has assumed a new identity at some point since 1987 film date. So at least 3 probable identities. But Glass's info suggests 123 FS series did not continue beyond 415 FS in period; given that 783 FS does exist (although only traced on AutoTrader, nowt on DVLA/RAC; 782 and 784 also show up), it may well have been issued much later. The plot locates this sequence somewhere undefined in the Scottish Borders with the owner being the elderly and wealthy local laird, but I suspect the car lived close to Glasgow in 1987 as there are no identifiable Borders locations shown onscreen. |
