If you look at the thumbnail pic, you can see something longer than "Ford" spelled out on the hood. -- Last edit: 2006-11-18 06:24:49 |

Funny how a 1950 car can be in a movie released in 1942. The correct car is a 1941-42 Chrysler Town & Country Wagon |

Regarding the November 18, 2006 comments above, the Plymouth Special DeLuxe station wagon pictured from the movie “White Christmas” is indeed a 1950 model. In a frontal view, the 1950 model of the Special DeLuxe had the word PLYMOUTH under the emblem below the hood ornament. In the 1949 model it was reversed, the word PLYMOUTH was above the emblem below the hood ornament. There was also a bit of change in the design of the grill and front bumper from 1949 to 1950 as well. The front of the station wagon can be seen in the movie “White Christmas” in the scene that occurs at the 1:47:30 (H/M/S) mark in the movie where the station wagon brings Betty (Rosemary Clooney) to the Columbia Inn.![]() Regarding the June 29, 2021 comments above, this discussion seems more appropriate for the 1942 movie “Holiday Inn,” somewhat of a prequel to the movie “White Christmas,” and the movie which served as the debut of Irving Berlin's 1942 song "White Christmas." In ”Holiday Inn” there is a 1942 Plymouth Special DeLuxe station wagon that, despite it’s age, looks remarkably similar to the ’50 Plymouth Special DeLuxe station wagon mentioned on the IMCDb page regarding the movie “White Christmas.” See: /vehicle_356818-Plymouth-Special-De-Luxe-Station-Wagon-P-14-1942.html |
