fintail ◊ 2006-11-19 02:48	I think it might be a '47, a '46 had a full chrome grille surround. I always saw that car as an anachronism in the movie, which in my mind took place in 1939-40 (I don't think it was every exactly specified in the film)

If the action was from '45 to '53 I would expect to see many cars from that time period. I agree with Fintail that the time period is supposed to be around 1939 to 1940. (Not earlier as "The Wizard of Oz" had been released.)
