I think it might be a '47, a '46 had a full chrome grille surround. I always saw that car as an anachronism in the movie, which in my mind took place in 1939-40 (I don't think it was every exactly specified in the film) |

The vertical bar down the center of the grille identifies this as a '48 model. The 47's lacked this bar, and the '46 grille bars were solid one-piece bars sweeping from one side to the other. |
