I don't really understand why they used 2001 models of the Crown Victoria. Wouldn't it have been cheaper to use Crown Vics which were built in 1998? |

After a few years Crown Vics probably depreciate to dirt-cheap prices, so a 5-year-old 2001 model in 2006 was probably still very cheap. In that Top Gear episode where they go on a road trip in America, they look at some used, ex-police Crown Vics, and they were so cheap, they were almost giving them away, and they weren't "old". -- Last edit: 2008-01-18 20:39:46 |

No they're not. This scene was filmed at an airport in Europe (I think in England, not sure). |

Dear "mister car from 1971" here's an image from CSI Miami, look at the Crown Vics, they look nothing like the one we see in the movie, are you sure that maybe the Crown Vic used at the Airport is solely a Miami Airport Police car, and, not, in the case again of the image one of Miami Dade's Police cars? - images/195/633.jpg |
