^ nice - it's a very rare 68+ Mk2 1300 (side indicators and perforated wheels) with a Minx S3a/b and 1970ish Imp deluxe beyond. It would be interesting to know how the Imp is badged - Sunbeam or Chrysler? Imp or 900? |

I found some information. It was first sold as Hillman Imp starting from 1960. Hillman reputation was however tarnished along the way and in 1970 the name was changed to Sunbeam 900. It was commonly referred to as 'Imp' though. After this and thanks to rally success the sales took off quite nicely. All together in 1960-1973 period around 10,000-11,000 examples were sold. Finnish Imp club is very active. This is their website: http://www.impclubfinland.fi/ Just click any link for pictures. Last summer the club celebrated Imps 50th birthday in style. Several cars including one Chamois were showcased in Lahti Classic Motor Show. ![]() |

Thanks. I'd come across a reference for the name change to Chrysler 900 before for unspecified Scandinavian markets, and no date info. Sunbeam 900 makes sense as an interim branding until perhaps 71-72?? Good to see Finland celebrating Rootes finest in such style. |

I clearly remember Finnland as the country in Europe with more Imps running, with the exceptions of UK and Eire. I actually began to love Imps in Finnland in a rainy day in which a maroon sport imp passed me inside my brand new Fiat 127 and I was unable to reach it again in those country roads ... |

I love the way a page for a Riley Kestrel in the UK finishes as a discussion on Hillman Imps in Finland Whose influence, I wonder? |

Plate is GOU 219D (Hampshire) or GDU 219D (Coventry) - both genuine issues but no records now. I had a moment and had to check my dad's old notebooks as we had GDU 129D on a green Imp. So somehow this page picks up an Imp theme again ... strange days ... ![]() |
