The "Ei" IS part of the model name, however.

The ANG plate dates it to 2002 if it was sold new in NZ. Orix New Zealand usually deals in used ex-fleet vehicles so I think it is a good chance that it was sold new in NZ. Definitely not 'built in NZ' though as NZ assembly ceased some years earlier. Like all new cars here it will have been imported fully assembled.
