THE 1974-1978 MATADOR COUPE WAS ONE OF THE FINEST CARS AMC EVER PRODUCED. THE AERODYNAMICS OF THE CAR WERE FABULOUS FOR THE 1970'S. MY DAD HAS THE X, THE OLEG CASSINI AND TWO BARCELONA'S WHICH HAVE THE BOBBY ALLISION/NASCAR INSPIRED MODIFIED QUARTER WINDOWS. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mary Goodnight tries to put a bug in the trunk of Scaramanga's car, but he pushes her inside and shut her in. Bond chases after them but Scaramanga manages to leave Bond behind and goes to a barn where he attaches a set of wings and a jet engine to the car, turning it into a plane, and he and Nick Nack fly back to his island, with Goodnight still in the trunk (she gets a scare when she gets the lid open and finds that the ground is hundreds of feet down). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2008-10-02 18:32:50 |

It has lived in England for much of its life. Since its sale at the Bonham's 2001 auction it has been at the Bond Museum at Keswick www.thebondmuseum.com/pages/09themanwiththegoldengun.htm ![]() |

Even today "Scaramanga's Island" is overflooded with tourists, who are coming there, just due that movie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_with_the_Golden_Gun_%28film%29 Nearby Phuket in Thailand. |

Do the wing attachments still exist? Obviously, this car never flew, but a full size set of wings was made for the shot of the vehicle coming out of the barn, Flying car was a small radio controlled airplane. |

In response to ingo's comment, I watched the film with Roger Moore's commentary on and he laments the fact that this once unihabited island has been transformed into a tourist attraction, virtually ruining it. |

No, it hasn't. It was sold at auction in 2001, and has been in England ever since. -- Last edit: 2012-10-28 10:11:10 |

In the novel, Francisco Scaramanga drives a red Ford Thunderbird, but that couldn't fly, despite its name. |
