Assuming it's of American origin is just like assuming the Chevrolet Cruze is of American origin, when it's actually of South Korean origin and was offered there first, years before being introduced to the US market. On top of that, the Verano was introduced in China as the Buick Excelle GT before it was introduced as the Verano, so it would be even more likely to be of Chinese origin than American, but since it all connects back to the Astra, the origin is German.
