In this scene early on in the movie, Mitch Brenner, played by Rod Taylor, pulls away from the San Francisco pet store but not before Melanie Daniels played by Tippi Hedron, makes a note of his license plate number which she uses to track him to Bodega Bay.

Agreed, definitely a 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Town Victoria Fordor Sedan, Factory Sand Shell Beige Exterior. In this scene early on in the movie, Mitch Brenner, played by Rod Taylor, pulls away from the San Francisco pet store but not before Melanie Daniels played by Tippi Hedron, makes a note of his license plate number which she uses to track him to Bodega Bay.
