Doesn't exactly look like a write off, though. |

Likely quite a bit of subframe damage, though. |

Interesting. The first two thumbnails are of a 1967 Cougar, but the wrecked one is a 1969-1970 model (you can sort of see the swooping bodyline on the wreck, and the vinyl tops were slightly different for 1967-1968 versus 1969-1970). |

Not a 1967-1968 or 1970 in these pics... I know this was posted about 2 years ago, but I was 'Googling' and ran across this thread and I am apparently a FREAK, because I just HAD to register and correct this mistaken identity. The 1967-68 Cougars had a painted "beak" "nose" whatever coming down through the grill, and so did the 1970 though it was a little beefier. The 1969's grill had horizontal grill lines in the shape of the earlier (and later) "beak", but it was all lines and no painted "beak" - as seen in the 1st 3 images. You got the "swooping" lines right, though. It is definitely a '69. <ahem> <<stepping down off my soapbox now...>> |

In my post dated 2008-04-05, I was talking about the images posted by stronghold on 2007-10-11. It seems Imageshack has lost the first thumbnail, but the Cougar in the second thumbnail is definitely a 1967 model (shape of the bodysides and no side marker light), whereas the one in the third thumbnail is 1969-1970 (they probably reused the same 1969 model wrecked in episode 2.10). The Cougar in Episode 2.10 (in the main image and the thumbnails posted by stronghold on 2006-10-30) is definitely a 1969 model; no disagreement there. |

Oh, I guess I was looking at the post above yours (re: the post date). Hope that doesn't reflect on my powers of observation! ;-) I see where you are getting the 67-68 view of the one being towed in. I see the flat (instead of swooping) line along the bottom, ,too. My only thought is that it might be a reflection or something off of the shiny (not yet wrecked) paint along the flat part of the door skin that looks like the straigt line along that same part of the 67-68. It does however look like it might have reverse lights on the rear bumper cowl, which is 67-68. If I could get a better look at the tail lights, and be sure those were reverse lights I'd be sure... Until then, I will agree that most likely is a 67-68. Good eye my friend, good eye. |
