salvation ◊ 2006-10-30 04:18	It could be a Harley Davidson MT350E, as used by the British Army so its most likely a former MoD bike. http://www.ianhardy.net/albums/tanfield001/dcp_5349_std.jpg But the Harley Davidson bike is based on the Armstrong MT500 www.realclassic.co.uk/snarley.html wrote It seems that Harley bought the rights to manufacture the MT-series machines from the UK concern, Armstrong (who do indeed have something to do with CCM), when NATO chose the MT as its standard steed. The Americans didn't want to be riding around on anything foreign, bless 'em, so they bought up the option to make the bikes themselves. The MT500 was considered to be too powerful for modern Army duties -- or perhaps it was just too much for the Americans to handle? -- so it was downsized to a 350. To give them their dues, Harley also overhauled and upgraded much of the Armstrong's ancillaries, correcting some flaws in the design and equipping the bike with an electric start. truslack ◊ 2009-01-07 23:55	That's not a Harley-Davidson MT350E, it's an Armstrong MT500. The engine protection bars, and brakes give it away. Interestingly, neither the 500 or the 350 were designed for taking pillion passengers (the 500 doesn't even have pillion pegs).
