Definitely Avenger estate body, so Dodge 1500 or whatever local variety. |

Looking at used car listings, "Polara" seems most common--as in Brazil--though Wikipedia claims local assembly from CKD kits imported from Argentina, where the "1500" name was used. |

Polara name only used in Brazil for later versions of their 1500 (which was only ever 2 door saloon). Estate was Argentina as 1500 Rural, introduced 1978. When Volkswagen took over in 1980 there was a facelift which removed the front quarterlights but name stayed as Dodge until another facelift in 82 and change to Volkswagen 1500 - http://www.rootes-chrysler.co.uk/Avenger/avenger-arg.html . As this one has quarterlights = 78-80 1500 Rural. |

www.carrosyclasicos.com says: 1973- local production of the 1500 begins 1975- Station wagon appears <-- before Argentina's Rural 1977- 1800 is introduced and named Polara 1979?- end of production? |

Very interesting. So now we have 3 separate lines of Avenger production in South America, each with their own sequences. Plus Venezuela and Peru had Rootes assembly (Hunters etc) but unsure if continued into Avengers. |
