Alexander ◊ 2006-10-15 00:10	Daimler is not a model name of Jaguar but a marque in it's own right. It is the oldest British car company and was bought by William Lyons (Jaguar) in 1960. Since then the Daimler brand name was used for the top end Jaguar models. They are easily identifyable by their fluted top of the radiator grille, like in this image. The model name is either 'Six' or 'Double Six'.

Alexander ◊ 2006-10-15 01:42	You shouldn't trust what is written on such pages ... known to be inaccurate. There is a bit of confusion as the during the BLMC (later British Leyland) times a subdivision was known as 'Jaguar Daimler', but this was never as brand name. That is like 'Austin Rover', 'Audi NSU' or today's 'DaimlerChrysler'.
