Hmm, now we can start nitpicking. ![]() Was this Lada sold in origin in West Germany or in the GDR? In the GDR is was named "Lada 2104 Kombi", in the West "Lada Nova Kombi". |

What a wonderful choice by the filmakers. Nothing says nondescript more than a Lada. A symbol of the decline of the old soviet days, a message that might be lost on a western filmgoers, but not on european eyes. @ portacker: The Ladas are not 'bad' cars. They work under extreme conditions (very low temperatures, ...) and are built to last through Russian winters.
