Hmm, now we can start nitpicking.  Was this Lada sold in origin in West Germany or in the GDR? In the GDR is was named "Lada 2104 Kombi", in the West "Lada Nova Kombi". |

What a wonderful choice by the filmakers. Nothing says nondescript more than a Lada. A symbol of the decline of the old soviet days, a message that might be lost on a western filmgoers, but not on european eyes. @ portacker: The Ladas are not 'bad' cars. They work under extreme conditions (very low temperatures, ...) and are built to last through Russian winters.
