I wondered why it said "Made for South Africa" but oddly enough it turns out this was actually filmed there. |

But still: are there any visual differences to allow this being listed as 'Made for ZA' ? |

The name, I guess |

In America the one with this grille would be a Dodge Caravan (with a different logo) This is probably just the same as what was sold in other continents, probably not specifically designed for the South Africa market but I think it's OK to put Made for ZA to keep it simple. |

Can you tell whether it's RHD or LHD? (If it's LHD, it can't be "made for ZA".) |

Based on the picture, its LHD. No Caravan sold in South Africa based on a classified listing Link to "www.ooyyo.co.za" |

The name is a legitimate reason, but LHD/RHD isn't. |

Nope. Confirmed, it's a Dodge Grand Caravan LE, brought over from the US. Movie was filmed in Australia, not ZA. |

IMDB says this is a Dodge Grand Caravan. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0329200/trivia?tab=gf&ref_=tt_trv_gf Big goof since this was said to have taken place in 1991, which both anachronistically and plot wise, makes NO sense whatsoever. |

Indeed I do not know from where that South-Africa info is coming from, it was filmed in Australia according to IMDb. However they may mention on IMDb the name in a generic way. Is it sure it is a Dodge? How was it named in Australia? -- Last edit: 2013-04-22 17:06:50 |

Still Chrysler Voyager. The IMDB info was probably written by an American, hence why there might be Dodge/Chrysler confusion. Though, it could be an American model brought over. We'd need to see more details to know for sure. Could it even be a Grand model? |

I think the location entry is wrong. On the IMDB's crew list there's: Also, under "Other Companies" there's Moonlighting, a South African production service company, and a laboratory in Cape Town. -- Last edit: 2013-04-22 18:17:43 |

I have watched this before, this in fact is an American Grand Caravan LE. LHD, long wheelbase, plastic headlight lenses as opposed to glass, also the Grand Voyager models do not come with the seats shown in the interior shot, as well as the full gray lower cladding (they had a strip of cladding along the sides like the American SE). |

Bumping - not "made for ZA". |

Remember it's 720PX max width for non-HD (i.e. DVD) pictures. |

[NS] Chassis Code. With that bumper, it's the updated 1999-2000 one for base/SE models. This one is just a base Caravan since it has the thinner door trim. http://gtcarlot.com/colors/car/81988099.html -- Last edit: 2019-07-05 00:38:13 |
