for the fastback saloon mid-right if identifiable - also seen behind the Valiant in /vehicle.php?id=582104 . The other possibility is the Ford Pop at back. AFAIK these pops were only made in UK and ZA - not NZ - anyone know different? The roof with chicken-wire is the top of the /vehicle_582068.html stack.

chris40 wrote Behind the Valiant a 'Turtleback' US Ford, unless it's a Vedette which seems unlikely. Morris Eight Series 1/2 in top RH corner.

nzcarnerd wrote Yes Ford 'house' - 1946-48. US origin as far as I know - or maybe Canada? - and NZ assembled. I think the orange truck cab is a local body on an International chassis.

nzcarnerd wrote The 'turtlebacks' will be 1946-48 Fords which were quite common here. Often known as a 'house' as they were regarded as being as big as one.....

Could be ZA, but I'm not certain. AFAIK this wasn't a factory colour for the 103E in the UK. Re Aussie 103Es, Wikipedia says The Popular 103E was introduced into the Australian market in 1953 but not with the British two door saloon body style. Instead, it was offered as a two door Tourer, a two door Roadster Utility and as a two door Coupe Utility. The Tourer was a re-badged Anglia 103E Tourer and the Roadster Utility, which featured a step-side body, was called a Plumber's Utility.

Sorry - my bad. I meant Aus not ZA so should have read as "these pops were only made in UK and Aus - not NZ". And just to add to the cock-up, I'd used the wiki facts a few months ago in an article on the 1990s Corgi 103E models .... [Image: smiley-sad031.gif]
