Looks like a 1974 Galaxie 500

It's a '73-'74 LTD. The Galaxie had a one-piece grille rather than the three-piece seen here. Also, note the LTD badge on the roof.

I can assure you it's a '73. I own a '74 Galaxie seen here

The white car in the movie is a '74 and the car in sphinx357 post is a '73. Check it outhttp://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_5817-Ford-LTD-1974.html

Check the rear fender style. I don't think it came as 1974 model year. Toby could have mix and match to make it look like 1974 model year.

What do you mean by "Check the rear fender style." ? 73 and 74 model years had the same rear end design...aside from the bumper being pushed out o the 74 model.

What I mean is that the shape of the rear fender that leads to rear of the car.

Forget the rear, Ford did not change the rear end style between 1973 and 1974 model year. Again I check on this web site search. Sorry, I thought they change the rear style between 1973 and 1974 model year.

It's a 1974 LTD, as the 1973 has a different grille, different front parking lights and no hood ornament.
In this case I don't think Halicki had modified a 1973 to look like a 1974. This car doesn't get wrecked in the movie, so a modification of a 1973 for economical reasons would have been nonsense.

As I recall hearing, they actually filmed the scenes with the KFOX D.J.'s/Reporters well after the chases/crashes were filmed? It's probably an actual News Unit???

Correct, this was a vehicle owned by the real radio station in reality. Halicki had nothing to do with it and didn't touch it.
