jplemoine ◊ 2006-10-05 23:15	Doubles phares à l'avant: Volkswagen 412, une des voitures les plus mal conçues de l'histoire de Volkswagen. Lourde, instable, manquant de puissance et d'image, un flop, quoi... Tout pour déplaire! Paradoxalement, assez recherchée en collection aujourd'hui...
DAF555 ◊ 2006-10-05 23:33	This is not a VW 412, it´s the smaller and much resembling brasilian made VW 1600 TL. I think it was introduced as a 1972 model with this front, so it was a forerunner of the design of the 412 that appeared as a 1973 model facelifted 411.

Bob Dieck ◊ 2006-10-06 22:42	It is the Volkswagen TL, based on the early 60's german design Variant. It was launched in Brazil in 68, only the 4-door version, with retangular headlamps, not fastback, but with a separate reartrunk (with engine inside). VW launched station wagon Variant in 1970, twin carbs, flat engine and in 1971 the old VW 1600 square back gave place to TL line, 2-door and 4-door, sharing the flat engine with Variant. The retangular headlamps were replaced by twin round headlamps and two years later by this more streamlined design. It is very difficult to find the old retangular headlamps today. The car is a taxi as you can see the exclusive Rio de Janeiro yellow paint with dark blue strip, as well by the arms-out typical way of driving to taxi drivers. -- Last edit: 2006-10-06 22:47:28
