Does american car-transporters look like that? And how do they connect the trailer to the truck. This is a kind of semi i`ve never seen before. |

The trailer attaches on a fifth wheel located below and behind the rear of the trucks frame, the same place a regular ball type hitch would be. This configuration is quite common among major car transporters in the U.S. |

Damn! The car on top is a Tempo. It is a second generation (1988 to 1991). Can not tell the exact model though. I know it is not a GLS. But I need a wheel, or a rear view maybe, to tell the exact model. Sadly, it dies. The truck goes off the egde of a hill, and all the cars pile up at the bottom. It already looks somewhat dead though. Part of the grill's chrome seems to be peeling. And aren't all car carriers/transporters the same? Or at least similar? |

They look the same, but I do not know... Each were used in different scenes. |

ok since there's a lot of truckers here i wanna how does a truck's engine brake works and what is it for? |

Any supplementary braking system is to reduce the forces applied to the regular braking system particularly for heavy vehicles that are subject to brake fade during hill decent conditions. There is a lot of information about engine braking, transmission retarders etc. here... http://www.madabout-kitcars.com/kitcar/kb.php?aid=427 There is a separate section for engine braking on diesel engines, how it works and why a gasoline/petrol engine is different. Retarders in the transmission line are different but also commonly used. Excuse the use of 'lorry' for trucks as its a UK site but it discusses US truck systems. -- Last edit: 2009-07-20 11:13:55 |

Here's a BTS photo I found online. Is the VIN number for real on the side of the truck? Usually they're 17 digits long, so I'm not sure if that was just stenciled on for vanity purposes. -- Last edit: 2023-02-27 05:26:13 |

17 digits began in 1981. Anything built before January of 1981 usually has a shorter frame/serial number instead. |
