M38A1. The front pivot springs were on the M38A1 (also on the first few 1955 CJ5s). The other M series details would be the recessed headlights, marker lights, lifting shackles and two piece windscreen. It appears to be a later model M38A1 w/o hinged grille and later style battery hold down. A side view would also show the larger fuel tank extending below the body line. |
