US version is right, but it's a later version, a 1996 model, what can be seen at the new bumper desing and the lowered radiator grille. Only very very few customers in the USA did order the Silver Spirit ( which was only built at special request at this time and no longer for stock) hence it might be most liekely the "Silver Dawn" - or probably indeed the "New Silver Spur". Both of them had a longer wheelbase - bur the Spur additionally offered a turbocharged engine. |

To Juergen: What do you suggest then as name/model? 1996 Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn? -- Last edit: 2011-08-29 23:10:44 (G-MANN) |

@ben68: I actually don not know, but the Silver Dawn was the entry-level model at that time, hence built more often then the Spur. The statistics would speak for the Dawn at least. |

Great. Car has anyway been recorded as Silver Dawn, which is fine. Thanks! -- Last edit: 2012-07-15 23:39:41 (G-MANN) |

Not true, see the numbers here http://www.rrsilverspirit.com/models/index.htm This site says the Dawn was a special edition of the Silver Spur, it does also say it was a "lead-in" model but Rolls-Royces are for a very exclusive market anyway. It seems that there's no obvious differences between them apart from the rear badge (not visible here) so better to list this as a Spur by default (the most produced model by the mid 90s) -- Last edit: 2015-05-04 22:59:37 |
