It's a 1996-1997 model. |

Excuse me, why's that? -- Last edit: 2013-01-02 01:10:33 |

Has no fender badge. |

Not really the answer I was looking for, as Ford_Guy already told me that this isn't a strong identification point. There must be another answer, or am I really in for the first paradox of this year? -- Last edit: 2013-01-02 15:44:07 |

IIRC, it was the new steering wheel. In this case, this one was obscured. |

You know, that not any taxi stays in original condition during its working life? As you are from N.Y.: have you ever had a look to the several taxi-garages in Hell's Kitchen? The guys there are repairing taxis in piecework, against the running clock (a not running taxi costs the driver and owner a lot of money). Noone of them takes care about originality. -- Last edit: 2013-01-02 16:05:57 |

I know about that as well, but like you said, it's obviously obstructed. |

It is because of the lack of a fender badge. The reason that I depend on that with the NYC taxis is because this is how they were delivered straight from the Ford plant specifically for New York city. Therefore there were no previous repaints or application of decals which could have resulted in the loss of the badge. Also, I don't think that NYC ordered any 1995 CV models, but I haven't been able to confirm that. |
