Sadly Navy/Army/RAF plates are undateable from civilian plate records, and I've no idea what systems were used. All I can say is the usual format was 12AB12 as here and RN probably excludes army and RAF. |

Useful info for something else - there is a Corgi model Ford Popular 103E from a set commemorating 1944 D-Day anniversary with the plate 6754 RN and liveried as a naval staff car with wartime black-out trim. I knew the car was wrong for the date (perhaps Anglia E04A or earlier) but at least the plate might be correct. |
