But it was something special for the DDR anyways, as the import of Estates was always very low and for some cars, as the Dacia and the Polski Fiat for example, not possible at all. ![]() So to get a Lada Combi was also very problematical to get there, despite the fact, that the Lada was the most expensivest, officially available car in the DDR anyways, and often not to order for common people, too. Some Estate-versions of the Lada weren't imported at all. So the Wartburg Tourist was for a time the only availabe Estate in the DDR at all. Pick Ups were never available, except Western relatives have paid them with D-Mark. |
