The newer and more high-placed bumper combined with the two exhaust pipes identify a 1974 car.

Can anyone identify the colour? I think, it's from around 1975/76.

The colour is "Ravenna Green" available at least from 1973.

It is a 1974 VW SuperBeetle Cabriolet. I am the owner of the car. It was bought by my dad in 1974; I remember the night we picked it up. I still have the sales receipt (but not the window sticker...oddly enough, I have the window sticker for the 1973 VW Superbeetle in Ravenna Green that we traded for it). It was my dad's car; it is now my car.

The film was shot in Columbus, Ohio and a good friend of mine, Ken Wilson, was on the crew. They were looking for vintage cars. I loaned it to them for a week. Here is a photo of the car from 2012 (it still had the license plates used in the movie):

Nice car, love the fact it has been a member of your family all the time. Your last pic is showing a 1970 convertible, though.

Acht!!! The perils of black and white. We've had so many Type 1s in my family, all convertibles. The first was a 1957 (before my time; I don't know the color). The second was a 1959 in cream yellow with a light colored roof (we named it flower after my dad, who was color blind, got it painted bright orange and we pasted flowers all over it to try and mask the damage), then a dark blue one sometime after 1966; it was totaled in an accident. We then got a tan colored one. We may have only kept it 2 years and traded it for another tan one...which would be the lead car in the bottom photo). Then we got a 1973 Ravenna green one which was in an accident with a Porsche 914 - the only time one of our bugs got in an accident with a smaller vehicle. We traded the 73 in for Greenie.

I found another photo of Greenie...and with me. This was back in 1975. I was doing the bookkeeping for my paper route. Look out the window and you can see Greenie in the driveway.
