Fiberglass Cobra 427 kit. Lower edge of the body curves up too much in the back and not enough in front - looks quite strange for lack of side pipes. The air dam extension in front doesn't help to suggest that it's a legitimate Cobra, and the turn signal position appears off too.

Possibly an Arntz.

Actually it IS real. It's a mk4. One of the 300 made from 1982-91. I know this because my dad owns THIS exact car. It's not a replica and it's not a 289. This cobra was the ONLY cobra made with the lip extending almost to the ground in front. It has an aluminum body instead of fiberglass. It has a BOSS 351, which is it's original engine. It's not a 427, however, it has been "poked and stroked" for more horsepower. From personal experience, this car has more than enough power to peel your "face right off your face!"

@aney5801 - can you give us a date of manufacture? By Mk4, I assume we're talking about UK made AC/Autokraft? General question to other imcdbers - if/when this one is confirmed, do we go for Autokraft AC Cobra Series IV as ID like /vehicle_33204-Autokraft-AC-Cobra.html ? Also noted that we have one as AC Cobra by Autokraft MkIV - /vehicle.php?id=46734 . Maybe AC (make) Autokraft Cobra (model) is a better ID for both??

The terms Autokraft and AC Cars seem to be pretty much interchangeable, I'd go for listing them as AC.

Done. We now have 3 AC (make) Autokraft Cobra Mk4s, origin UK.

It's a Shelby, not an AC!

The AC/Shelby question is difficult/controversial for early Cobras (and one we still have not fully sorted - I think a couple of chassis have separate entries under each make), but does not apply for these later models which are correctly listed.

Which came first, the Shelby or the AC? I always thought we made it first.

I have a strong suspicion that this particular Autokraft MkIV is chassis no. AK1025.

AK1025 was produced in 1983. It was LDH, painted white with blue interior, powered by a 351 engine, and featured a distinctive chin spoiler. The car was owned then by Ralph Riskin (Los Angeles) and was featured in several U.S. magazine articles from the period.
