I think this is actually one of the Sunbeams that raced in the French GP around 1912-14, although I am not totally sure. I am sure it is not an Alfa. Having a racing number it should be able to be traced.

If it was an 1920 Alfa it would be an Alfa-Romeo as they changed from ALFA to Alfa-Romeo in 1915 when Nicola Romeo took over the company.

"The company engaged some of the best continental drivers including Dario Resta, Emile Medinger, and Victor Rigal. Four 12/16s were entered in the Coupe de L’Auto, held over a 47 mile circuit at Dieppe. The cars were basically standard machines with small modifications to the engine and special tuning."

The 1910 Sunbeam 12/16 was powered by a four cylinder T-head engine of 2412cc.

In October 1911, the 12/16 received a new four cylinder monobloc L-head engine of 3016cc.
