A bit out of period? I don't watch this show but isn't it set during WW1? |

A year out of place actually, third series takes place in 1920. |

EX 1945 plate comes up on check sites as Registration: EX1945 - Make: UNKNOWN - Model: UNKNOWN (TOURER) - Colour: GREEN AND BLACK, but was probably a late 1927 or 1928 issue from Great Yarmouth. Confirmed as AC Six (well known in owners club) at http://www.acownersclub.co.uk/forum/pop_printer_friendly.asp?TOPIC_ID=2030 and appeared in 1990s ITV series House of Eliott. |

This model was current from 1921 to 1930, with an increase in engine capacity from 1.5 to 2 litres in 1922. Various body styles were available but it isn't easy to date cars in the 1920s because developments were sort of overlapping from one maker to another. There were also many original owners who may have specified old fashioned coachwork designs in order to replicate a previous but well liked car with a new one. This car appears to have front wheel brakes which were standardised in 1927, but may have been available as an extra before that date. AC was a sporting and expensive make of car, although tending towards conservatism in its designs. |

The A.C. company produced 2 seater sports cars that in the 1960's were exported to the USA to Carroll Shelby's facility where American Ford V-8's were installed. They were marketed and sold as Shelby Cobras. These original Cobras now sell for hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars. |
