Austin Cambridge or Morris Oxford. Based on the fact that the trim appears to come to a stop at the rear door, I'd say it's the Austin. |

I know it looks a bit like it could be F-reg but given how visible the plate is I don't think we can be too sure (pixellation could be affecting the way it appears). We'll list it by the model's start year - what is it? |

But, if you disregard the F suffix and regard the plate as totally illegible, then logically this car has to go further back and start as an A55 Countryman [ADO9A]. And a reasonably plausible identification disappears into generic porridge. |

Alright, shall we change it back? This episode is from 1974, would an A55 or an '62 A60 probably be a rusted banger by this time? I'm not familiar with these old cars from before my time, all I've heard (from my dad) is cars didn't last as long back then (apparentely they rusted quickly). -- Last edit: 2012-08-21 02:49:37 |

I think I'm going to ignore the implications of that remark. That said, whether A55 (1959-61) or A60 (1961-9), some owner who liked it or found it particularly suitable for his purposes might well have lavished some care on it, including undersealing the sills, always a sensible precaution on British cars of this generation. |
