yes, leuchtorange came for MY 1972 - but this is a VW 1500, not the 1971+ 1302 "Super Beetle"... |

Fwiw, I thought 1970 was supposed to be the last MY for 1500 Type 1. The same car: |

There was never a 1300 Convertible. 1500 1968-1971, 1302 1971-1973, 1303 1973-1980. And this here is definitely a 1968-1971 VW 1500. |

@ingo: But there was a 1300, only much more short-lived than I thought. http://www.volkswagen-classic.de/modelle/kaefer-1300-cabriolet-1965-1966 The 1500 was preceeding the 1302, in turn replaced by the 1303. This is no 1303. It seems 1302 was made MY 1971-73: http://www.volkswagen-classic.de/modelle/kaefer-1302-cabriolet-1970-1972 Are you sure about the 1500? By the wipers and the missing VW-emblem I would still say this is a 1973+. And therefore a 1302. At least no 1968 as it says now, by the turn signals alone. Not sure about the cab itself, guess you have seen something there as well. Typ 15, actually. Cabs were not Typ 1. FWIW. EOD. |

@tore-40: This one has larger indicator that was used in our market starting 1970 model year. Also, in our market, we have 1492cc engine starting 1967 model year and was sold only one engine size until 1971 model year. -- Last edit: 2012-08-10 22:47:54 |

@tore-40: I'm referring about the 1968+ version with the upright headlights. There ws no 1300. And yes, I'm absolutetly and for 100% sure, that the car on the pic is a 1968-1971 VW 1500. It has definitely the flat non-1302/1303-front, so no McPherson-front suspension. No 1302, not even a little bit. |

@ingo: lighted side markers, four rows of vents in engine lid..... and the color. Are you sure you can rule out a 1972 1302 Super? |
◊ 2012-10-28 10:01 |
Absolutely. It hasn't the higher front with the McPherson-suspension. |

The 'Clementine' color was available for 1970 convertibles only. -- Last edit: 2014-01-06 16:54:24 |
