15 Audi A5s were sacrificed for these sequences. |

How is that possible? I mean, seeing how the scene was short, I do not see how they could use 15 cars... That's crazy. They should find better stunt men if they need 15 cars to achieve that! |

They didn't waste fifteen cars by making mistakes and then doing reshoots. They'll have storyboarded the chase and dressed each car with a different level of damage to portray the car at different stages of the chase. By working with a set of cars deliberately damaged in advance (and which are safe to drive no matter how wrecked they appear) they can film the different parts of the chase in the order that's most convenient and they can film multiple versions of each part (with the actors or with the stunt doubles, close up or long shot, etc.) and edit them together however they want. They don't have to worry about continuity errors or being unable to reshoot something because they haven't got any doubles left. |

That makes sens... but that's a rather expensive way of working (though that these were given by Audi, I suppose) |

I suspect the cars were later than 2007 - Audi would have provided current cars for film date (or even anticipated film release date as 2012). Given how regularly Audi tweak details, can we be more precise? |

I saw the making of this scene on the Top Gear special "50 Years of Bond Cars". They actually used an hammer to wreck those A5s! |

Say hello to what I believe is one of the surviving A5's (if anything, the Defenders are genuine): -Kurt -- Last edit: 2013-09-29 10:10:45 |
