What could be that FHD-thing? It is maybe just a "wild" reference number, not sure that it should be used in model name?

:D That's a more exact name of version there are/were: FHD, FVD, FHM, FLD etc. I can't tell why this black one is FHD.

FHD stands for Futura High-deck Daf engine / FHM would be Futura High Mercedes / FHX means MAN engine
FLD stands for Futura Low Daf / FVD Futura Very low Daf (in Holland known as Bova Shuttle)

This is in fact the unique the unique Futura John Player Special (chassis number 3174, B220 AGK), marketed by Moseley Coach Sales, Bova's U.K. importer and distributor. This extremely luxurious coach was fitted with only thirty seats arranged around tables and featured several television screens and a large, comprehensively-equipped servery at the rear, with a microwave, coffee percolator, bar area and cabinets. The seats were trimmed in JPS black and gold and the original wheel trims were similarly decorated.

It was first exhibited by Moseley at the Autobus Rai in Amsterdam, where it displayed the registration plate JPS 1, before briefly being used a demonstrator. It was sold to Berryhurst of London SE11 in February 1985, where it served until December 1988. It was then acquired by Pride of the Road, Royston, with whom it operated for until passing to Ashall, Manchester, in April 1992. It passed again to Edwards, Llantwit Fardrde, in September 1997, then to In Transit, Folkestone, in May 2004. It's final owner was to be Manoharan (Airport Connections), Manston, who used it as a source of spare parts until July 2008.

This episode was filmed in 1987 and shows it operating for Berryhurst, at the Randolph Hotel (now the Macdonald Randolph Hotel) on Beaumont Street, Oxford. The cast of Inspector Morse stayed at the Randolph during the filming of this series. Another Bova product, a Europa, can be seen in the background.
