Couldn't bars be taken off of a grille?

but that in main pic looks to have a starter bar at the bottom, from pics I seen that CAT didn't have one

the Allis Chalmers I mentioned does have a hole there for starter bar

and the downwards pointing main frame seen here
[Image: youonlyliveonce23.jpg]

so perhaps check again, Allis Chalmers or still think a CAT ?

The base is still construction-purpose, like most of the vehicles of these makes.

technically they are agricultural tractors so more in farming category if you want to be real accurate :p

they were NOT intended as construction vehicles !! it was just one of their possible functions with attachmants

you are confusing with what later evolved into purpose build bulldozers with fully integrated blades and so

this 20s and 30s small crawler were just agricultural tractors
