I believe this is a 1965 Plymouth Valiant Signet Convertible |

Strange to see a Valiant Signet with a Barracuda grill. Nice look |

In 1965 and early 1966 the barracuda had valiant front, trim and logos. The only real difference was the fastback made mostly of glass. You can easily see the area where they joined the fastback to the valiant top in the early barracudas - the slope is not smooth - actually a pretty sloppy job. They introduced the fish logo after the 1966 model year started so 1965 and some 1966 barracudas do not have the fish logo or different trim. |

I agree, wrenchhead. I loved those old Barracuda's. The grill on this Valliant is not the standard grill. This is the grill of the Barracuda. The Valiant grill for 1965 was of a different design. |

Never saw the grill go the other way, maybe its really a barracuda that someone cut the top off of edit: I laugh, but it just might be possible. The car was unibody but the top was not very structural with all that glass so.... -- Last edit: 2007-03-06 01:30:45 |

This is the grill I'm used to seeing on a 65 Valiant Signet. http://wildcatmopars.com/friend_details.asp?friendid=40 |

Yes, I have never seen one like this with a barracuda grill. I guess it would be pretty easy to switch grills since there is no significant difference in the structure of the body. At any rate its not a standard issue valiant. |

In Mexico, they made a Valiant with a Barracuda front end called the Valiant Acapulco. If this is one of the episodes filmed in Mexico, that's probably what this is. |
