Although there should be a badge on the front wing this is a Ghia. Remote control driver’s door mirror, chrome wheel trims and centres, a plush looking interior, vinyl roof and bumper overriders. Is it a pre-production/launch pic?? Have dug around a couple of Escort books, one with very early UK Ghia brochure pics which show the opposite side badge permutation - Ghia shield present but no engine size numbers - so maybe Ford didn't make up their mind until the very last minute?? It also says all Mk2 Ghias for UK/Europe were built at Saarlouis, so Halewood never made any. |
