Hillman Minx Estate/Commer Express? |

My first thought was a windowed/customised Austin A55 van because of the chrome strip looking BMC-ish and because I can't imagine this strip shape integrating with the Commer/Hillman side contours. The dashboard is going to be the best clue, but I don't know them well enough to choose. |

Until 1960 the Hillmans and Commers had the instrument panel in the centre of the dashboard... |

Dsl is right: it's a Austin Cambridge based wagon, built in Holland by Stokvis & Zonen (the Austin importers). I guess it has been a bit upgraded during the restoration, as there seems to be both the chrome side strip (since 1963) and the flying A on the bonnet and the dashboard is still in light colour (until 1963), and I'm not sure they came in two-tone... The van version came in November 1956, but I couldn't find when Stokvis started to make the wagon. Here's a picture taken from Gazoline #188 (avril 2012) of the Stokvis conversion. |

Nice find. I didn't expect my meanderings to lead to anything so specific. |
