lightninboy ◊ 2012-12-08 05:58	We give the P30 a separate spot in the step van section because for years in the tool business, people used the term “P30” or “step van” and it meant the same thing. P30 was Chevrolet's model name for its 14' - 16' - 18' step van line, and was the tool business standard truck until the early 1990s. Chevrolet also manufactured a heavier step van, the CX-950, or P60, from 1980 until 1993. While loved by tool dealers, the truck didn't sell in enough volume outside the tool business for Chevrolet to maintain satisfactory production levels and it was discontinued. The P60 was available in 18' - 24' versions, and was powered by a 366 or 427 V8 gas engine, or the 8.2L diesel engine. "1990 Chevy P60 Step Van VS Penn Body 25ft" was built by Penn, like this one: /vehicle_69164-Penn-Hi-Cube-Versatile-Van-1979.html But van from the picture has for example different front wheel arch and for sure is not from Penn. From GMC is only a chassis and probably an engine.

GMC-chassis special van: not necessarily a mention of GMC, not necessarily easily ordered at GMC dealership. Therefore, a P60 van with GMC prominently displayed on it can be assumed to be a GMC-branded van, and if GMC-branded vans are commonly called Value Vans, the GMC-branded P60 van can be called a GMC P60 Value Van. We know this van is a GMC and we know it's got a P60 chassis. We just don't know what model to call it and there is very little information we know about it.

I suspect they did, but there is very little information about such a van. Most people just call it the P60. Sometimes the name CX-950 is used, or CX for short. Tom Kincaid ToolTrucks.com LLC But CX-950 is just another name for the P60 chassis, not a model of van.

Similar on Chevrolet chassis --> http://jingletruck.com/chevrolet-panel-van-food-47603 - has clear information on the nameplate: Acc to Coachbuilt.com: "During the early 50s, they [UCBC] marketed their own line of step vans under the Utility brand. The step vans were manufactured by Utility Truck Distributors Inc. of Union City, as division of Union City Body Co. The firm continued to offer forward-control aluminum step van bodies for Ford, Dodge, GMC, and Chevrolet chassis until 1957 when an exclusive agreement was signed with Chevrolet and GMC Truck & Coach division. During the 1970s and 1980s Union City began providing vans directly to large fleet customers such as United Parcel Service. They also built revised bodywork that could be placed on International, Freightliner or Navistar chassis in addition to General Motors products." It means that from the 1970s they sold vans not only branded as Chevrolet Step-Van/GMC Value Van, but also under their own make. Then - I think - we can list this one and his brothers as UCBC Step Vans.
