Previous main - [edit: a pre-release picture now replaced after this comment was written] - ![]() was shot in Glencoe, Scottish highlands in Nov 2011 - report. I think the view is genuine, looking West down the valley - if so the main A82 trunk road (built 1930s) is off picture to the left and lower down behind cliffs for the main river gorge at a place called The Study, and the track shown is part of the old Telford road from early 1800s built on earlier cattle-droving route - reference. -- Last edit: 2017-08-05 13:31:36 |

In addition of that photo which seems to be a Porsche 928 (or was it that?), they used 1/3rd scale models For the scene where they use a machine gun against the front of the car, they found a spare DB5 front, repainted in green, filmed, and put that over the real car image. |

Surely this is worth ****, since it appears in almost every outdoor shot in the final act and plays an important role in it (the Vanquish in Die Another Day had a similar sized role and is rated 4 stars) |

I don't agree with that. Vanquish was introduced in Q's laboratory, was shown several times in Bond's investigation on arctic palace and - what is the most important - was shown in a long chase with Jaguar where Bond used every part of its special equipment. Role of DB5 in "Skyfall" is more similar to BMW Z8 in "the World is not enough" - it's driven by Bond, used in action scene, but it has no time to show all of its capabillities. |

Here is the production of the scale models used: Link to "www.3ders.org" |

3 stars it was not used that much |

It is still an iconic car, and several references are made in these scenes |

A real DB5 was used (as well as the 3D printed 1:3 scale models) but was not a previous BMT 216A, but a clone prepared for the film by the Aston Martin Works on an unspecified donor car - http://www.autovip.co.uk/news/?p=1244 . Also Link to "www.aston.co.uk" which confirms the customised Porsche 928 used as well. |

four stars please... this car didn't play any pursuit, but his impact on In the Skyfall battle sequence was more than important. And rolling car shots ... Fantastic... For sure it could not be any of the original cars from Goldfinger - 1 stolen - unrevealed, 1 sold in auction for over 2 000 000 GBP remains in private hands, one on exposition. Plate for sure was faked, Original rotary plate from is in private hands now ![]() Interesting would be to know what's the body number of this Skyfall original car. |

In the week after Skyfall was released the DB5 used in the film went on display at Beaulieu Motor Museum. As you can see it is still carrying the BMT 216A number plates, but my son photographed the tax disk it was displaying. This is what we saw... ![]() (If you can't see it, it shows that its real registration number is in fact AJU 519B) -- Last edit: 2012-12-04 16:45:06 |

Nice work! Chassis 1484/R, from 1994 auction entry - http://www.motorbase.com/auctionlot/by-id/1871135643 . 1484/R was also apparently one of the Goldeneye cars - as http://www.astonmartins.com/db4_5_6_s/db5_007_goldeneye.htm and Kurt's comment above (although may have been in Florida during Skyfall filming ![]() -- Last edit: 2012-12-04 17:26:45 |

You can see where some of the money is spent on these movies !!!" http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-20029138 "The owner of car, a 1962 DB5, was waiting for it to be restored at the factory where it was built when it was picked to star in the spy's latest blockbuster. The work, carried out at Newport Pagnell, was completed in six weeks." I think they use 2 DB5 the one from Goldeneye and one new restored. -- Last edit: 2014-05-24 10:41:18 |

DSL, I've established that the Dezer car is DB5/2187/R, registration JBZ6007. It is a flush bezel car. (Apparently, the car claimed to be 2175/R is 2187/R. 2175/R has nothing to do with Bond). 1484/R was never part of the Dezer Collection. -Kurt -- Last edit: 2016-06-02 03:53:19 |

Well, I think it deserves five stars. I know it wasn't used very much, but it played big role in this movie. Just like Gran Torino in Gran Torino movie, which was used less then this Aston, but it has five stars, because of the role it played. |

They used 2 real DB5 during Skyfall(DB5/2007R and DB5/1484/R ). The DB5/1484/R (Reg.AJU 519B) stunt car used in GoldenEye. Also used in Tomorrow Never Dies, Skyfall, Spectre and No Time to Die |
