(beautiful) 101" Forward Control .... if Alexander agrees we may list it as a GS Soft-top. |

Looking at the head rest, the drivers seat looks like its taken out of a Volvo. |

not impossible, but Volvo head rests are more narrower I believe.. these look a bit conic.. |

Yes, a very nice 101FC ... with the V8 engine as used in the Range Rover, as info for all those less aquainted to Land-Rover. We could add the military designation '1 ton general service (GS) 4x4'. |

And as another bit of trivia one of the few vehicles never proposed LR to the "civilian" market, so most of the ones you see now in private hands are ex-MOD (Ministry of Defense) vehicles, either GS as this one or Ambulance-bodied which are perfect for camper conversions. |

Actually LR made quite a few military-only vehicles, but the 101 is probably the one that sticks out most among those produced in greater numbers. There was also a 101 radio-van: http://www.landroverclub.net/Club/101/RadioVan1977_a.jpg And with a trailer it is a 6x6! http://www.lrfaq.org/FC/images/101p.large.jpg |
