It's a Land Cruiser but I'm not sure if this long wheelbase model used FJ45 body code

Rear body looks custom-made ... I'd not go crazy trying to exactly ID it...

It is not the original FJ45v Station Wagon but one based on a BJ45/BJ46 or HJ45/HJ47. Perhaps we should use 'J4' as chassis code, so vehicles can be grouped independed of engines (first letter) and wheelbase (last digit).

But then we miss some info when we are sure of the full number. I think that it is better to use the full code when we have it.

I thought we could use the chassis code additionally.
If we know a full name (difficult with the engine codes in the name) it would be something like 'Toyota FJ45v Land Cruiser Station Wagon [J4]'.

Will there be other codes than J4? Because if it is to add J4 to all Land Cruiser it is not very useful

Oh, yes, plenty! :)

Well, as these are really chassis codes, I think that it is better to use the full code. To group them better we can fill the year field with the first year of the model, as they are sorted by year and then by chassis.

I would only use codes like J2, J3, J4, ..., as it is in most cases impossible to tell which engine is inside the vehicle and what the exact wheelbase is. The J7 came with 10 different engines and 10 different wheelbases, 59 different versions! The short codes are widely used, therefore I think it is the best to adopt these.

If you think so, why not. But in the few cases when the code is sure, we should either keep it or put it in "extra info" field.

In those cases the full code is the model name, at least for the older ones. The very last ones (J12) use this code only internally (at least in Europe) -- there we could put it into the extra info field. But for most, if not all, vehicles the exact code will be guesswork. I just looked at a few listed and they all were just guessing on the engine, sometimes giving a code that didn't even exist.

OK then ;)

Done! Now they are organised! :)

The year given, unless I knew better, is the start of production, as usual. Especially quite a few J4 can get a better year classification, but I have to look for information about vehicle details.
