@bux48. Any idea where this extremely rare specimen was produced? I don’t think Brazil. Venezuela? |

AFAIK Wagons were produced only in Europe (all in GB also for G?), I believe these were all imported from Europe |

Seems 2001 was first year for the wagon. I cannot locate any 2000. Indeed there was a Mexican member who commented years ago stating 2000-2004 in Mexico but I believe 2004 was the new face lift. However, I just noticed that we do not have any Mexican admins shame |

Was it called Astra Wagon? |

Not sure. Finding official Mexican literature is difficult. Truck_Guy has sourced Truck brochures and night cub has found car brochures. I have not found anything related to the Astra except for commercials on youtube. |

I bet is particularly difficult finding something Wagon related, I'm not finding nothing official.. |

No John, we are in Mexico, it's a Chevrolet here. And 1996 would be an Astra F. Your picture shows a Vauxhall Belmont Astra from the 1980s... -- Last edit: 2020-08-07 18:04:20 |

I hadn't finished. I had one of these from new, there were plenty of European Vauxhall and Opel Astra Estate cars about. The subject car is the next facelift, but there wasn’t much change. -- Last edit: 2020-08-07 18:08:40 |

If that was supposed to be a joke about Bux finding nothing wagon related, it wasn't very good. Almost as bad as mine here: /vehicle.php?id=873970 |

Mine finished its life buried in the side of a Ford Escort which pulled out of a side turning without looking. I remember watching it crumple, thinking “I hope that bonnet doesn’t come through the windscreen”. -- Last edit: 2020-08-07 18:13:31 |

Yes, of course you’re right, it came after my Escort 1.6 Ghia in 1989. After the crash I had a 1992 Cavalier. -- Last edit: 2020-08-07 18:18:14 |

Yes, I was of course referring to Mexico. Anyway every source call these Wagon, even if none of them are official..I tried to use the wayback machine on Mexican Chevrolet site but it didn't open Edit: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-t6jzvzHRk this is the spot, does the voice say Wagon? -- Last edit: 2020-08-07 22:49:37 |
