Now you might be wondering why this is being listed, but in fact this was built on the chassis of a Bond Bug (or Reliant Robin depending on which website you look at - the Bond Bug was derived from the Reliant) and filming techniques, such as mirrors, were used to make it appear like it was hovering. In the 1997 special edition they redid these effects with computers.

I don't think the model name is given in the film but this extensive Star Wars site calls it the X-34: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/X-34_landspeeder Other sites may call it the XP-34, probably because of this line of dialogue:

Luke Skywalker: Ever since the XP-38 came out, they just aren't in demand.
