im not 100% sure but due to the fact that the taillights are full width on each side (caprice had 2 outer taillights and an inner section that didnt light up) and based on the fact i can faintly see the side moulding. im gonna say 1980-1981 pontiac bonneville or 1986 pontiac parisianne (without the wheel covers) a 1980 bonneville appeared as sheriff buford t justices car in smokey and the bandit 2 -- Last edit: 2008-03-02 23:59:15 (antp) |

No, it's definitely a 1986-1987 Chevrolet Caprice (I say these years since it's the pilot episode.) These tailights were only specific to 1986-1990 Caprices. |

not true... look closely at them, then look at these taillights on a 1986 parisianne... those are pontiac taillights... i have this show on DVD and this is from the Pilot episode where they chase some convenience store robbers. I just checked and its definatly a pontiac. It's missing the fender flares, but they pass it right before the bad guy spins out... |

I'm pretty sure anyone else is going to agree with me that it's a Caprice. But oh well. Compare the rear bumpers. The bumpers on the Caprice had a basic rectangular shape. It went straight. If you notice the Pontiac, the rear bumper has a depression around where the license plate is. Also, notice the rear wheel wells. Caprices had them open while the Pontiacs had them designed differently. It's a Caprice my friend |

you may not see it in the pic but if you look closely it does slope down like the one i posted.. it can be seen better if you are watching it on DVD |

also of note and possibly why the rear wheel skirts arent on is that pontiac sold the parisianne in canada after the bonneville went to the smaller platform in 1982... and the us got the parisianne in 1983 but it was basically a caprice with a different grille. in 1986 the parisianne became what i posted with the 1980-1981 bonneville trunk and taillights... but i'm pretty sure it was that way throughout 1983-1986 in Canada, where 21 Jump Street was filmed |
