Our British experts will know more. @rtsbusman1997: regularly such a plate-size is indeed not in use in Britain -the mainland- There are special sizes for US-imported cars and even for the used Japanese imports, but they are different than those here.

This combination was issued on the British mainland, but many years before this car was made. Possibly a seven-digit plate has been cut down, the initial year letter being discarded?
