The youtube clip has an interior shot of the roof lining after about 0:12 which looks very interesting - possibly ejectorish???? Could this coincide with DP216/1's known time in US??? It never drives very fast in the clip.

It is possible, the car doesn't do "dangerous" stunts.
For The Cannonball Run (1981)with Roger Moore they use the orginal gadget car (DP216/1) (and for the stunts a DB4 GT).

At 5:07 you can see a orange indicator (sorry i dont know if this is the right word)and this one has none. and at 14:28 the interior is white and here it looks yellow.

We have what we think is DP216/1 with /vehicle_1820-Aston-Martin-DB5-DP216-1-1963.html and without /vehicle_4383-Aston-Martin-DB5-DP216-1-1963.html the orange side indicators in early film appearances, which makes things complicated. As for the ejector outline, I may have been a bit premature if the cut-out section was mainly over the passenger seat and not full width. But I think sunroof DB5s were fabric eg /vehicle_555769-Aston-Martin-DB5-1964.html not metal, so this one may yet have a story. It certainly has a very wide number plate, possibly to disguise something behind.

I think that the one without the orange side indicators is the "road car" (DB5/1486/R, FMP 7B)

Here is a photo without the indicators during Goldfinger

And a video of the DP216/1 form 1996 a year before it was stolen, with side indicators

I don't know which car this is, but the hole looks very large.

The 2 "promotion cars". The hole looks not so big here.

@lobo try /upload.php to post pictures, much easier. Or on freebits pick "Code om thumbnail in forum te plaatsen"

Interesting glimpses of rough bodywork behind the front lights when they drop down for the guns. Presumably the same car as in this report filmed in UK - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSVEH7RHt7w . Difficult to be sure about roof, but looks different from inside and outside glimpses from the UNCLE car.

This is DB5 1799/R, which has since been modified into a Goldfinger/Thunderball tribute car. You can see photos of it at the Dezer Collection here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/43240189@N03/sets/72157643862711275#

It has had a number of Goldfinger replica parts added to it since 1983, but the large, chrome "GB" badge remains on the rear decklid.

The curator of the Dezer Collection confirmed that it is the car from this made-for-TV special.
