Possibly Alvis - maybe a Speed 20 - going by the pics here it might be a Charlesworth body - http://www.alvisoc.org/Site%20Files/Alvis%20Cars/Pre-War/Speed%2020.htm - but it might also be a Speed 25 - Link to "public.fotki.com" - . http://www.flickr.com/photos/28439790@N03/5823232305/ -- Last edit: 2011-10-30 07:25:25 |

Found as 1932 Alvis SA Speed 20 Vanden Plas Tourer, Registration GY 7177 (after search via Google) although it looks as though it has been re-bodied (Charlesworth?) edit: However still with the original Vanden Plas body in 2004. So not the same car. Therefore did the studio copy the registration GY 7177 for another Alvis tourer? Listing re-set to 'Unknown'. -- Last edit: 2011-10-30 11:26:09 |

Its not a Chalesworth as thay did tourer bodys on the MG SA This Alvis is a Drop Head Coupe and is more likely to be a Tickford body by Salmons and Sons the same as the MG SA Drop Head Coupe's |

This is a 1935 Alvis Speed Twenty "SC" by Charlesworth, one of 32 drophead coupes built by this Coventry coachbuilder. The registration GY 7177 was allocated in c.1932 to the Speed Twenty Vanden Plas mentioned by Sunbar, however it is believed the owner changed this car in 1935 and retained the plate for his new Alvis. The 1935 car spent many years in the UK, before heading to the USA, and was last heard of for sale in Australia. The 1932 car is alive and well in the UK, and currently wears "GY 7177". |
