I think it's a Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Torpedo. This one http://www.theashdownclassicweddingcarcollection.co.uk/classic-wedding-cars-sussex.html looks almost identical to me - maybe the same car? |

Hopefully there is a frame somewhere that shows the registration plate but it certainly looks like it. I am surprised something so valuable is used as a wedding car. From the DVLA link, if the first reg date is Jan 1911 then it is logical that the date of manufacture would be 1910. Torpedo is not a common designation for a British car body style. -- Last edit: 2011-10-23 21:17:20 |

Torpedo Tourer was quite a common and correct description widely used befor WW2. This quite a well known car, formerly owned for many years by the motoring journalist John Bolster, I believe. |

Hi, Can confirm that this car is indeed the wedding car mentioned by Kudos. Two days of filming for about 10 seconds on the screen ! Regards Vintman |

This car is a 1910 40/50 Ghost, chassis number 1463. Originally a very pretty Two-Seater (on a short chassis) by Midland Counties Motor Garage Co. of Leicester with nickel fittings, reg AL-1587. First owner: W.F.Foster, Notts. A couple of owners later it was laid up in a garage from 1923-1945 then went to John Bolster of Edenbridge, Kent,(as said above). Now a Tourer by Holmes (c.1913). |
