Yes, they should have destroyed the Cayenne instead... |

I totally agree, Lateef. Ah...the year sof the Volvo 66 DL should be 1976, if both sedans and wagons arrived at the same time. |

1978+ for head restraints (at least in UK). |

By the badges it's a 1980, the last year in production. |

I think it is earlier since I think without being sure that the side strips in contrasting colour lasted untill 1977 or 1978. |

It´s puzzling with those stripes, they belonged to the DAF 66 Marathon and I´ve seen them on some 1976 Volvo 66s also. Maybe they could be had as option later, but I don´t really know. But I don´t think they were on the option list for 78-80 really. |

It is referred to as a DAF in the movie, despite the Volvo badging. |

I strongly think a 1977 Volvo 66 DL, after having looked at my brochures. -- Last edit: 2011-10-22 17:30:04 |

From the details visible it´s at least a 1978, the headrests and the black door mirrors. The stripes are most likely applied later, or by the dealer when the car was new. These stripes came only on the 66 GL and this car bears no sign og being a GL, wrong grille and 14 inch wheels. So I see no reason to doubt that it is actually a 1980 model. |
