My information is AX Chicago sold only as 1.1. Available from March to May 1990. This is a somewhat shoddy attempt at clichy bingo too. |

Same info found. Based on 1.1 TGE (previously known as RE). Sunroof, tints, GTi side mouldings, chrome grille, black velour interior etc. 1000 sold in UK split into 3 & 5 door. |

A French car named after an American city. Is this revenge for the Lincoln Versailles? |

Rather not, as noone in Europe ever has known the Versailles. Not only in France US-locations were used: http://i.auto-bild.de/ir_img/5/7/7/0/0/5/ec008452eb570f88.jpg , http://s005.radikal.ru/i212/1006/9e/01f7498962ff.jpg P.S. The Lada-pic is from a Russian page, but the original is from West Germany (WL-plate for Winsen/Luhe, where the importer had existed until its bankrupcy in 1999. The beach looks like the Baltic Sea). -- Last edit: 2011-10-22 00:05:30 |

Don't think Chicago had GTI mouldings - visually doesn't appear so |

But the European one came after the South American one. |

...and the American one (ok, spelt differently) came before both of them. |
